Pre-Kindergarten
The Pre-Kindergarten program at Our Lady Queen of Peace is open to both 3 year old and 4 year old children. A program of FREE Universal Pre-Kindergarten is available to those 4 year old children (see box below) who attend half day sessions.

The 3 year old program is for children born in 2007, that is, your child must be 3 years old by December 31, 2010. The 4 year old program is for children born in 2006, that is, your child must be 4 years old by December 31, 2010.

The Universal Pre-Kindergarten program, offered at Our Lady Queen of Peace, is funded by New York State under the Federal No Child Left Behind Act. This program, which may be provided in public or non-public school settings, is designed to provide 4 year old children with the opportunity to have a comprehensive early childhood education. The program is offered at no charge to parents as it is funded by New York State and monitored by the Board of Education.
For the 2010-2011 school year, all children born in 2006, who are residents of Staten Island, are eligible to participate in our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program. Although there are no income restrictions the program is limited to 20 students in the morning session and 20 students in the afternoon session. The UPK at OLQP follows the same calendar as the rest of Our Lady Queen of Peace School.

Pre-K Tuition
3 year olds:
2 mornings (Tues & Thurs) 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - $125/month
3 mornings (Mon,Wed, Fri) 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - $160/month
Registration Fee: $75
(Classes held at 62 Cloister Place)
(For registration please bring: Child's birth certificate, Baptism certificate or date if baptized in OLQP,
immunization record and Church envelope number and non refundable fee.)

4 year olds:
Half Days:
5 mornings 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - FREE Universal Pre-Kindergarten
5 afternoons 11:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. - FREE Universal Pre-Kindergarten
(5 half day sessions held at 22 Steele Avenue)
